Why Computer Maintenance is Important?

Computer maintenance is important because it allows you to stop viruses, trojans or any other nasty software from taking over your computer. These things can cause your computer to lose information, or run slower. We’ll discuss some of the simple things you can do right now to protect your computer.
First thing in protecting your computer is to installing an anti-virus program, which is a major part of protect your computer and making sure your computer is protected and safe. Don’t take these simple tasks for granted; they’ll really help in the long run and lengthen the life of your computer. Running an anti-virus program on your computer automatically can detect any viruses, trojans or any other nasty programs and quickly removes them once you set in up correctly.
Another reason to maintain your computer is that it saves you from doing any major
repairs that will cost you more money in the long run. By defragging your hard drive, and clean out all your hard drive through removing old files and cleaning out your recycle bins daily, weekly and monthly, will helps to make your computer run faster. Also keep your computer clean from dust, by regularly dusting also helps save your computer, because this doesn’t allow the dust to clog up the electrical components.

Backing up your computer’s information is also vital to maintaining your computer as well as protecting your personal information. By back up your information you’ll never need to worry about losing any information, especially when it is vital to your work, school or business. So please save you information in two separate places if possible.

Remember the more programs you have running the slower your computer will be; so stop other programs from load on your computer when it’s starting up. By do this you’ll make sure other, vital programs can run when you need them and that these other startup programs are not slowing up your system, especially if they aren’t necessary. You do this by going to all programs in your windows system tray (in the lower left hand corner of your screen) to see which programs are running on your computer. Close them if you don’t need them; or run them and configure them not to load when you boot up. Other programs running in the background can be found by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete at the same time.
Also make sure you have a firewall in place from preventing hackers from hijacking your computer and setting up programs to steal your information. Your firewall should boot up automatically with your computer to protect you from hackers get through the internet and stealing your data.
One other computer maintenance things you should never do is unplugging other devices such as peripherals from your computer when powered up this can short out the connector socket or the motherboard. The exception to this if you know a peripheral is “hot pluggable” if you don’t know what “hot pluggable” means then ignore the exception.
In conclusion doing the above computer maintenance tips will save you and your computer from any major expense, while making sure your computer is safe and protected, and you can be more effect in your daily life.
